Senate Holds Emergency Session Amid Speculations of Tinubu’s Supplementary Budget
Amid speculations that President Bola Tinubu may forward a supplementary 2024 Appropriation Bill, the Senate has scheduled an emergency session. Initially adjourned until July 2, the upper legislative chamber has reconvened to address pressing national and constitutional issues. Senate spokesman Yemi Adaramodu confirmed the session aims to oversee appropriations, address constitutional and electoral concerns, and clear outstanding bills and motions. The resumption comes after a break for Democracy Day activities and Sallah celebrations.
