Top countries battling insecurity, Nigeria ranks no. 8

As insecurity continues to plague different parts of the continent, Nigeria now ranks number 8 of the countries battling insecurity following the heightened crisis and massacre in different regions including Benue, Borno, Zamfara, Kebbi , Plateau among others.

Recall that insecurity issues in Nigeria has witnessed a surge following killings and attacks launched on multiple parts of Benue, bandits attacks on other communities in Zamfara, Borno and very recently, a number of bomb explosions.

Following the Benue killings, President Tinubu visited the state however the attackers have continued to operate despite the president’s instruction to vacate the communities.

The wicked acts of armed Fulani herdsmen has been witnessed in almost every state in the country according to previous reports. With very recent incidents of bandits taking over Kankara community in Katsina state.

Just few days ago, on June 22, a Benue links bus was nabbed and all its passengers abducted, similarly other reports of missing students who were abducted on their way back to school and yet another of a doctor who was killed by suspected herdsmen on his way back from work in Abuja were filed in June alone, among several other similar cases.

Yesterday, a social media video making rounds showed officers of the Nigerian army allegedly destroying people’s crops in a Benue community because the residents prevented herdsmen from entering their farms.
