Breaking: All Kebbi PDP senators defect to APC

    Three current Kebbi State senators who were elected on the platform of the opposition PDP have officially written to the Senate to declare their defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

    The senators include; Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South) are the senators.

    Their letters were read on Tuesday under the direction of Senator Barau Jibrin. After the letters were read, the room was raucous and crowded for more than fifteen minutes.

    APC’s majority in the upper house has grown with this action, increasing the party’s number of senators in the 10th National Assembly to 65.

    As a result of their action, the APC would have a larger majority in the upper house of government, with 68 senators in the 10th National Assembly.

    Members of the National Working Committee (NWC), Senator Uche Ekwunife, Dr. Nasir Idris, the governor of Kebbi State, and the party’s National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje are among those in the chamber.

    The Senate leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele of the APC, Ekiti Central, said that the doors of the ruling party are open for others to enter. He called the development the beauty of democracy.
