The union said the decision was prompted by what it described as “amputated” salaries paid to its members by the university management for the months of January and February 2026.

This was disclosed in a communiqué issued at the end of an emergency meeting held on Tuesday. The statement was jointly signed by the union’s chairperson, Idou Kehinde, and its secretary, Adesina Arikawe.
