Amid the valentine’s day buzz and excitement, veteran singer Sunny Neji has voiced his concern about what he sees as a growing misunderstanding about relationships and love in the present period, saying that many people mistakenly think that intimacy starts and ends with sex.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, the singer said, “The biggest misconception that a lot of people have about love and relationships is that they think that everything begins and ends with sex.

“Love is just love. Love is when you care about someone, when you have empathy for someone, when you can put yourself in someone else’s position.”
According to him, empathy remains the foundation of genuine affection and connection. “Without empathy, there cannot be love. The ability to empathize with someone else, that is what love is. Therefore, this generation must learn to empathize with others. Once you’re able to do that, love will just come naturally to you,” he added.

Expressing his thoughts on Valentine’s Day, Neji argued that love has endured across the ages and is not just sentimental but also necessary for human survival.
“Love is universal. Love transcends time. People have been falling in love long before we were born, and they will still keep falling in love long after we’re gone,” he said.
Unlike many who reserve grand gestures for Valentine’s Day February 14, Sunny Neji said that he adopts a daily approach to expressing affection and gratitude.
