In a post on his verified X account on Sunday, Shehu Sani argued that international law targets countries without nuclear capabilities, asserting that superpowers and their allies are largely insulated from its provisions.

He further lamented that powerful nations can invade, occupy, and dispossess other countries, intimidate judges of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and violate the sovereignty of nations with impunity.

His comment is coming against the backdrop of the invasion of Venezuela by the US forces which resulted in the capture and whisking away of its President Nicolas Maduro alongside his wife on Saturday.

He wrote, “International law is made for poor or weak countries; it’s law for those countries without nuclear weapons. Superpowers and their cronies are insulated from that International law.”
