Pandemonium has erupted in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State, where residents burned campaign posters of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
A video widely shared and spotted on social media captured youths pulling the NDC chairman in the local government, Bilyaminu Bachirawa, from a moving motorcycle.
Reports also indicated that angry youths nearly lynched Bachirawa as they chased the motorcycle and shouted at him.
Recall that the NDC announced Peter Obi as its presidential candidate for next year’s general election on Saturday night.
Shortly afterward, Obi formally unveiled Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate.
Before joining the NDC, Obi and Kwankwaso left the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing internal disagreements and legal disputes within the party.
