Position Overview
The Factory Manager will be responsible for managing all factory operations, including production planning, workflow optimization, machine maintenance, staff supervision, inventory management, safety compliance, quality control, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Factory Operations & Production Management
* Oversee day-to-day factory operations to ensure timely production and delivery of finished goods.
* Develop and execute production schedules in line with company targets.
* Monitor workflow processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend continuous improvements.
* Ensure optimal utilization of factory equipment, tools, and production resources.
2. Staff Management
* Supervise production staff, technicians, machine operators, and support workers.
* Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and enforce discipline and professionalism.
* Lead training programs to enhance staff competencies and technical skills.
* Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
3. Quality Control & Assurance
* Implement strict quality control standards for all manufactured components and machinery.
* Conduct inspections, testing, and validation of finished products.
* Identify product defects and ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken promptly.
4. Maintenance & Technical Oversight
* Oversee routine maintenance of factory machines, production lines, tools, and utilities.
* Ensure minimal downtime through preventive maintenance schedules.
* Coordinate technical support and repairs with internal teams or external vendors.
5. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
* Enforce adherence to safety regulations, SOPs, and best practices within the factory.
* Conduct inspections and enforce the use of PPE.
* Report and investigate incidents or near-misses, ensuring corrective measures are implemented.
6. Inventory & Supply Chain Management
* Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, parts, consumables, and finished goods.
* Work with procurement to ensure timely supply of materials to avoid production delays.
* Maintain accurate inventory records and stock management systems.
7. Reporting & Administration
* Prepare periodic reports on production performance, quality, staffing, equipment status, and other KPIs.
* Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting for factory operations.
* Liaise with senior management to align factory output with organizational goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years experience in factory/production management, preferably in machinery fabrication, automotive assembly, or agro-processing industries.
* Strong knowledge of machining, welding, fabrication processes, and industrial equipment.
* Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
* Strong understanding of factory safety standards and regulatory compliance.
* Proficiency in production planning tools, documentation, and reporting systems.
* Ability to diagnose technical issues and coordinate repairs effectively.
* Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
