Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory’s Minister, claims that the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) success in the recently concluded Rivers State bye-election and FCT Area Council election demonstrated the public’s growing trust in President Bola Tinubu’s policies and initiatives.
Wike made this statement on Sunday in response to polling findings that showed the All Progressives Congress had won big gains.

He claimed that the party’s popularity, particularly in outlying areas of the FCT, was an indication that grassroots efforts by the government were starting to have an effect.
In addition to what he described as an overwhelming majority in the local council chairperson posts, he claims that this is the first time the APC has secured councillorship seats in several countryside districts.

He described the APC’s performance as a victory for what he calls a “rainbow coalition” of political stakeholders.
“A rainbow coalition” of political players won the election, he said, referring to the APC’s performance.
Wike added that the partnership represents a wider convergence of interests in favour of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope program.

“The results underscored shifting political dynamics and growing cross-party collaboration ahead of future electoral contests,” he said.
