Chief (Mrs.) Shimite Winifred Bello, the Governor of Delta State’s Special Advisor on Trade and Export, has been confirmed dead. According to reports, the well-known trade and economic expert died as a result of spousal abuse.
At the time of her passing , specific information regarding her passing specifics were still and unconfirmed. However on Monday, April 21, 2025, Harrison Gwamnishu, a human rights advocate and Delta State Governor’s adviser, revealed the cause of tragic passing in a Facebook post.
The development was also confirmed by Comrade Victor Ojie, also known as Wong Box, another Delta human rights campaigner.
Taking to social media, Ojie wrote “Marriage is not by force oh. It’s better to lose your marriage than to lose your life oh.”
According to Hon. Oge Okonkwo, a Facebook user, Shimite’s husband was also apprehended in connection with her d3ath.
Additionally, Tameta Sunday, Shimite’s assistant, verified her death claiming that Shimite was k!lled by her husband who is also a pastor.
He wrote, “It’s very difficult to type RIP boss, knowing fully well an ugly soul called pastor with a gentle look as a husband cut all the positive plans we had together,”
