‘They Want ADC Off the Ballot’ — Atiku Alleges New Plot

Thus comes just 24 hours after the African Democratic Congress (ADC) 2027 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar said that anti-democratic forces are plotting a coordinated effort to prevent the ADC from participating in the 2027 general election

In a statement issued yesterday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku Abubakar claimed he had received credible intelligence indicating that the plot was aimed at excluding the party from the 2027 contest.

Atiku Abubakar further warned that any attempt to prevent the ADC from participating fully in the electoral process would represent one of the gravest assaults on Nigeria’s constitutional democracy since the return to civil rule.

Backstory….

Meanwhile this development comes weeks after the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and four other political parties.

The court also directed INEC to deregister the Action Peoples Party (APP), Action Alliance (AA), Accord Party (AP), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).Honda

The ruling was delivered by Justice Peter Lifu following a suit filed by the National Forum of Former Legislators.
