Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has stated that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has unintentionally become the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s “best campaign manager.”
Oshiomhole said Atiku’s repeated criticism of opposition figures such as Peter Obi and others is indirectly benefiting the ruling party.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the senator dismissed concerns about opposition parties like the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), saying the APC is not threatened by them.
“You mean that the APC would be worried about ADC, NDC? I saw Atiku—he is now our best campaign manager because he is attacking Obi, and I see Obi attacking Amaechi,” he said.
Atiku and Obi previously contested on the same political ticket but later parted ways after Obi joined the Labour Party, where he ran for president in 2023.
In January 2026, Obi reportedly returned to Atiku within the ADC before defecting again to the NDC shortly after.
It is also believed that Peter Obi may run for president alongside Rabiu Kwankwaso under the platform of the NDC.
