The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially released the full list of presidential candidates and their running mates for the January 2027 general election.
Rose Oriaran-Anthony, the Commission’s Secretary, signed the list, which the electoral body released in Abuja on Saturday. The list contains candidates from 18 political parties.
Sixteen of the 18 presidential candidates are men, while two are women.
The male contenders include Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Gregory Obi of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
The candidates listed include Donald Duke of the People’s Redemption Party, Sunday Chibuzo Okereke of the Labour Party, Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress, Sandy Ojang Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party, Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje of the Action Alliance, and Aliyu Abbas-Bin of the Action Democratic Party.
Additional nominees comprise Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement, Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu of the Zenith Labour Party, Peter Ada Agada of the Young Progressive Party, Sunday Adenuga of the Boot Party, Moses Olusoji Adebisi of the Democratic Leadership Alliance, and Kabiru Yusuf of the Allied Peoples Party.
The list features two female presidential candidates: Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement and Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori of the National Democratic Party.
The commission also listed four female and 14 male vice-presidential candidates.

In addition, the commission also released the final list of candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives elections.
