2027 Grammy Awards: Davido Submits Five Entries Across Multiple Categories

Afrobeats star Davido has submitted several works for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.

According to sources, the submission coincides with the Recording Academy’s first round of voting, scheduled to run from October 12 to October 22, 2026.

The details were revealed in a widely circulated post on X by music platform Grammy Guru on Tuesday.

Davido entered his latest album, Oriade, across four distinct categories: Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical), and Best Album Cover.

Additionally, he submitted his hit track B4 B4, featuring Fola and Mayorkun, for consideration in Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best African Music Performance.

The singer’s 2025 collaboration with TxC, Nakupenda, was entered for both Song of the Year and Best African Music Performance. He also submitted Le Show, featuring French Montana and Ayra Starr, for Best African Music Performance.

Furthermore, his song I Know Who I Am was put forward in the Best Music Video category.

The 69th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 7, 2027.

Backstory…

The Grammy Awards are among the music industry’s most recognised honours, presented annually by the Recording Academy, a US organisation representing music professionals, including singers, songwriters, producers and recording engineers.

The awards recognise excellence across musical genres and recording disciplines, with nominees and winners determined through a peer-based process involving eligible industry professionals.

Davido’s latest Grammy submissions follow several years of growing recognition for Nigerian Afrobeats at the international awards.

The singer received his first Grammy nominations in 2024, when his fourth studio album, Timeless, was shortlisted for Best Global Music Album, while “Feel” competed for Best Global Music Performance and “Unavailable,” featuring Musa Keys, was nominated for Best African Music Performance. However, he did not win in any of the three categories.
