Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, have been formally registered as members of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
Reports indicate that the duo, on Sunday, announced their departure from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Both politicians, who are reportedly exploring a joint presidential ticket for the 2027 race, visited the NDC secretariat in Abuja, where they were officially welcomed into the party.

They were accompanied by several stakeholders, including Senator Victor Umeh of Anambra Central.
While receiving his membership card, Peter Obi stated that their intention is to “build Nigeria,” emphasizing their commitment to national development and political restructuring.
