2027: ‘Things Will Change’ — Amaechi, Atiku Vow to Transform Nigeria

Rotimi Amaechi, a former minister of transport and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, promised on Thursday that if elected in the 2027 general election, he will change Nigeria in four years.

Amaechi made the pledge shortly after submitting his presidential nomination forms at the ADC’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Meanwhile, Former vice president and ex PDP presidential candidate Atiku has also submitted his nomination form.

In a tweet on his X handle on Thursday, Atiku stated that his presidential campaign is part of a larger movement to rebuild Nigeria and restore national wealth.

Amaechi, on his part also claimed that skill, experience, and performance—rather than ethnicity or political sentiment—should determine the 2027 battle and promised to change the nation within four years if elected.

In Amaechi’s words,“What Nigerians should do is assess all of us who are running for office based on our records.

“Nearly everybody who is running for the office of the president has served Nigeria in one way or another. Let this be a referendum. If you have performed, whoever has outperformed the other, vote for the person.”

Speaking after submitting his form at the ADC national headquarters in Abuja, Atiku wrote, “The march to restore prosperity and better days to our beloved nation took a firm and decisive step forward today at the national secretariat of our great party, the African Democratic Congress.”

Additionally, he said, “This is more than a political journey; it is a national movement rooted in hope, renewal, and the collective resolve to save Nigeria from despair.”
