Rebekah Sekidika, a first-class Microbiology graduate from Benson Idahosa University, was laid to rest in Port Harcourt. Her father, Sampson Sekidika, revealed she died during a medical procedure. Family, friends, and mourners gathered at the Military Hospital to retrieve her body. A brief funeral service, led by Bishop Chris Ebata, took place at the Port Harcourt Cemetery’s ‘Vaults and Gardens’. Rebekah’s younger sibling, Josephine, read from Thessalonians chapter 4: 13-15 during the service.

Highlighting Rebekah’s academic excellence, he mourned the truncation of her aspirations, revealing her plans for postgraduate studies in the UK, which were abruptly ended by her passing.
At the funeral, attendees, overwhelmed with emotion, wept openly during the viewing of Rebekah’s body and as she was laid to rest, underscoring the profound impact of her loss on all present.
