Popular gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has taken legal action against her former manager, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, over unpaid music royalties totaling $345,000.
Mercy Chinwo’s legal action is backed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which secured a warrant from the Lagos High Court and ensured that Oyedikachukwu appears in court.
Justice Alexander Owoeye granted EFCC the warrant to arrest him after the agency has been unsuccessful in doing so based on the petition filed by the Gospel singer.
Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the owner of EeZee concepts, signed Mercy Chinwo in 2017 after she won Nigerian Idol’s second edition. He has since been her manager until things went sour in 2022 after disagreements over financial payments.
He is currently being dragged to court for allegedly failing to remit Mercy Chinwo’s fair share of music royalties from the singer’s online platforms and concerts on January 24 2025.
However, in response to this, Oyedikachukwu took to social media to share his own side of the story.
