The Holy month of Ramadan begins on March 1, 2025 as the crescent moon has been sighted by Saudi Arabia.

As Muslims prepare for the holy month of Ramadan, Saudi Arabia has announced that they have sighted the crescent moon on Friday, February 28, 2025, which automatically means that the fasting will commence on March 1, 2025.

Following this confirmation by Saudi Arabia, over 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide will start fasting from sunrise to sunset for the next 30 days.

During Ramadan, fasting is regarded as an important aspect of Islam, and all healthy Muslims are required to engage in it. Only those who are not healthy or sick, pregnant women, menstruating, or young children are excused.

However, for thousands of years, Muslims have kept the tradition of looking for the crescent moon before starting their fasting.
