Wike assures the Defence Chief of FCTA’s commitment to assisting in tackling insecurity.
Mr. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), assured Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, of the FCT Administration’s support in curbing insecurity nationwide. During the Chief of Defence Staff’s visit to Abuja on Friday, Wike pledged assistance to improve the country’s security and uphold its territorial integrity. He emphasized readiness to provide any necessary support from the FCT.

Additionally, Wike mentioned the passage of the 2024 FCT Statutory Budget, which includes provisions for drones to aid security agencies. These drones will assist in combating various forms of insecurity, especially in the FCT. Wike also discussed plans to supply security agencies with patrol vehicles and communication gadgets in the coming days. He highlighted the establishment of an FCT Rapid Response Centre, equipped with advanced technology, to enhance security efforts.
Wike expressed condolences to the families of the deceased military personnel in Delta, promising support to alleviate their suffering. Gen. Musa commended Wike for the positive changes occurring in the FCT since assuming office as the Minister.
