Breaking: Govt Witnesses to testify against Nnamdi Kanu in court

The Federal government has been given permission by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja to allow its witnesses to testify behind camera in the terrorist accusations against Nnamdi Kanu, an activist for the Biafra nation.

Chief Adegboyega Solomon, SAN, the attorney for the federal government, submitted an ex-parte application, and the judge granted permission on Tuesday.

During the application hearing, Adegboyega Solomon begged Justice Omotosho to safeguard the witnesses’ identities for security reasons.

He told the court that witness protection was necessary because Kanu was charged with terrorism.

For general security reasons, the senior lawyer asked that the witnesses’ names be withheld from the public.

Justice Omotosho approved the request since Kanu Agabi SAN, Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, raised no objections.

However, when Kanu’s bail application was being debated, Kanu’s lawyer asked the federal government to cooperate in a similar manner.
