Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s media adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe, harshly criticised Minister Nyesom Wike for what he called a shocking betrayal of his party, likening his public statement that the PDP is on the verge of disintegrating to a man wishing death on his own family.
Ibe called Wike’s support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and his forecast of the PDP’s demise “extremely unsettling” in an exclusive interview with Vanguard in Abuja on Tuesday.

He underlined that it is surprising that a former PDP governor would take such a stand, and it may have serious repercussions for the party’s stability.
Ibe said, “It is only natural for Ganduje, as the leader of the ruling party, to hold sentiments that do not favour the PDP. One would hardly expect him to wish the opposition well.”
Under the APC-led government, Wike, who is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, had reiterated APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje’s forecast that the Peoples democratic party would collapse by the end of 2025.
Ibe while speaking noted that the APC national chairman’s sentiments were expected however, such was not expected from Wike. “It is deeply unsettling for Minister Wike, a member of the PDP, to echo such sentiments and effectively wish death upon his own party.
“This speaks volumes about his character and raises serious concerns. It is akin to a man wishing harm upon his own children or family. Such a position is not only unnatural, it sits uncomfortably with any rational and fair-minded individual,” he added.
