A cartel operating under the guise of missionaries has been uncovered by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for peddling illegal pharmaceuticals and “supernatural water” in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The group is known for Targeting gullible locals, the scheme was discovered at the Community Town Hall in Abuloma under the premise of a free medical evangelism outreach.

Chukwuma Oligbu, the South-South Zonal Director of NAFDAC, led a raid after receiving a tip, and as a consequence, several unregistered goods, including counterfeit eye drops and other medications, were seized.
According to reports, the group was hiding under the pretense of missionary work, distributing these illegal narcotics to locals while making up claims that they had therapeutic or paranormal qualities, causing serious health damage to the general public.
NAFDAC in a tweet on its official X handle further confirmed that all counterfeits products have been seized and transported to its a zonal office. With investigations currently underway, NAFDAC is seeking to find and apprehend every member of the syndicate fake missionary syndicate.
Residents of Port Harcourt and surrounding areas have been advised to remain cautious and report any suspicious medical outreach programs to the authorities.
