Strategic Visit: Army GOC Tours Kebbi Troops, Urges Vigilance

Maj. Gen. PB Koughna, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army and Commander of Sector 2 of Operation Fansan Yamma, recently conducted a familiarisation tour of troops deployed in various parts of Kebbi State.

The visit, which took place on March 15, included inspections of personnel from CSI Battalion III at the Forward Operating Base in Dirin Daji, as well as troops from the 223 Light Tank Battalion.

During the tour, Maj. Gen. Koughna of Army was welcomed by the Commanding Officers of the respective units, who provided briefings on their operations and the current security situation in their areas of responsibility.

Addressing the personnel, the GOC of Army urged them to remain vigilant, committed, and professional in the discharge of their duties.

He also held a strategic meeting with unit commanders, during which issues relating to ongoing operations and prevailing security challenges were discussed.

The tour ended without incident, as troops were urged to maintain a high level of alertness, discipline, and professionalism, while remaining prepared to respond swiftly to emerging threats.
