The decision, according to Senator Titus Zam (Benue North-West), who spoke on behalf of the group, was based on the president’s “transformative leadership” and the multiple government interventions in Benue State since the start of his administration in May 2023.

Accompanied by Senator Emmanuel Udende (North-East) and ten APC members of the House of Representatives from Benue, Zam mentioned a number of infrastructure projects, economic initiatives, and security efforts credited to the Tinubu administration.

Projects including; the 465-kilometer Calabar–Ebonyi–Benue–Nasarawa–Abuja Superhighway, the Makurdi–Aliade–Otukpo–Enugu Road rehabilitation, and the dualisation of the 9th Mile–Otukpo–Makurdi Road are some of the projects that are emphasised. A flyover at the Wurukum Roundabout in Makurdi, the restoration of the Oju–Cross River federal route, and the 83.8 billion Buruku Bridge across the Katsina-Ala River among others.
