Korra Obidi is opening up about a distressing co-parenting experience that left her feeling heartbroken and confused.
In a recent video, the dancer and singer shared that her daughter’s long hair was unexpectedly cut while she was at her father’s house.
“Imagine picking up your child from their father’s house—where you’re co-parenting—and discovering that their hair has been chopped off,” Korra said.
Clearly emotional yet composed, she revealed that her daughter June, who once had beautiful long hair, now sports a short afro.
Korra expressed her disbelief that more than half of her daughter’s hair was cut without her knowledge or consent.
“This is the story of my life, guys,” she remarked.
Instead of reacting with anger, Korra decided to embrace her daughter’s new look. In the video, she is seen trying to style the shorter hair by braiding the front and experimenting with different ways to make it look cute.
“Before, I would put it in a ponytail, but now the girl has no hair anymore,” she noted.
While Korra didn’t name anyone or directly call anyone out, her disappointment was evident.
“My sister and I see that co-parenting works for others in America, but I’m not sure about my situation,” she said.
Despite the challenges, the mother of two emphasized her commitment to maintaining peace and positivity.
“I’m not going to damage anyone’s property. You do you, and God will handle the rest.”
