Nollywood’s female drama: Actress Eguavoen urges colleagues to pursue unity
Angela Eguavoen, an actress, has voiced her concern over the unhealthy behaviour of some of her Nollywood colleagues, who she says like disparaging one another out of animosity. Eguavoen revealed a troubling story on Instagram recently, in which a coworker begged a producer to avoid casting another actress in films because she annoyed her.

Some women in the Nollywood industry, she bemoaned, appear to enjoy bringing others down rather than uplifting one another.

Eguavoen highlighted the value of kindness and togetherness in Nollywood, speculating about the day when support and love would triumph over jealousy and animosity. Men in the industry, the actress observed, frequently appreciate and encourage one another while remaining calm and professional.

She applauded the remarkable Nollywood women who have served as inspiration and role models for her and other aspiring performers.

Eguavoen’s comments are coming following the drama and feud that has ensued between actress Angela Okorie and colleague Regina Daniels.

The Edo actress urged her coworkers to think about the wider picture, where everyone can prosper, and to evaluate the effects of their activities. Eguavoen reminded her audience that there is no need for pointless arguments and rivalry because life is brief and the sky is large enough for everyone. She is advocating for a shift, asking Nollywood women to put compassion and togetherness above rivalry and jealousy.
