President Tinubu meets Sanwo-Olu, GAC Members in Lagos, says all is forgiven
President Bola Tinubu said on Sunday that he was no longer angry with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and that he had forgiven him, saying, “It’s all over now.” All is forgiven.

The president’s statement came after a private meeting with members of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who had come to make a plea on behalf of the governor and other people who were said to have lost favour with President Tinubu.

There have been rumours of a perceived rift between the president and the governor, especially after the controversial removal of Mudashiru Obasa as Lagos speaker and his eventual reinstatement.

Sanwo-Olu’s conspicuous absence from the flag-off of the reconstruction of the deep seaport access road in Epe, Ijebu-Ode area of the state, early June also sparked rumours of a crack in the relationship between Sanwo-Olu and the godfather of Lagos politics.

Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, the GAC chairman, who hosted the president in Lagos, recognised President Tinubu’s dissatisfaction with certain state officials, especially the governor, and begged for pardon.

During the meeting, President Tinubu assured everyone that he had no resentment, especially towards Sanwo-Olu, according to sources.

The governor and a number of GAC members bowed before the president in a gesture of contrition and conciliation.

Reports indicate that the meeting did not delve into the specifics of the disagreement between the president and the governor. Rather, it focused on reconciliation, with the president accepting the plea for forgiveness.
