Mr. Paul Ibe, the former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s media adviser, has criticised former presidential aide Reno Omokri for making persistent and baseless assaults on Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate.

Ibe questioned Reno Omokri’s intentions and moral character in a highly worded post on his verified X account on Saturday, criticising Omokri for what he called “pedestrian, acerbic, and unprovoked attacks” on Obi.

The outburst came after Omokri posted on Friday that he had spoken with Atiku over the phone and that the former vice president had endorsed Omokri’s credentials.

In response, Ibe dismissed Reno Omokri’s assertions and launched a stinging rebuke, branding him “a master of treachery” and “an unrepentant opportunist.”

“Credibility and Reno Omokri in the same grammatical environment? Oh, what a mockery,” Ibe wrote. “That’s an oxymoron so wild it should be banned by both logic and language.”

He questioned Omokri’s moral character, citing his previous criticism of Peter Obi and characterising his political allegiances as “transactional” and erratic.

“You say my principal has been ‘good’ to you, but that phone call you trumpet was likely just another pit stop in your never-ending pilgrimage for personal ‘goodness’,” Ibe added. “Your kind of goodness isn’t ethical — it’s transactional, scavenging like a hyena sniffing out its next meal.”

Ibe challenged Reno Omokri to refocus his attacks on more urgent national concerns and accused him of hypocrisy. He specifically brought up the continuing dispute regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s prior court cases and academic records.

He also criticised Reno Omokri’s alleged contradictions and changing political affiliations, suggesting that his actions undermine his political significance and public commentary.

“If you really care about truth and character, join the call for the FBI to release Tinubu’s drug records in the United States,” Ibe said.
