Benue Herders Attack: I value the lives of Nigerians more than cows – Tinubu.
President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday said the value of human lives is greater than that of cows.
Tinubu declared that he is a president who prefers to govern and not bury Nigerians.
He spoke during a stakeholders meeting in Makurdi, the Benue State Capital.
The president is in Benue State following the killings in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area of the state and other communities around the Benue-Nasarawa corridor.
The attack which Governor Hyacinth Alia linked to armed herders interest in Benue lands has led to over 200 deaths.
However, Tinubu urged the governor and people of the state to join hands with him in tackling insecurity.
Tinubu said: “The value of human life is greater than that of a cow. We are here to govern, not to bury.
“We want to handover to the generation yet unborn.”
Earlier, Tinubu had visited victims injured during the herders attacks across the state.
After arriving at the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi, Tinubu headed to the hospital where he met with the victims.
