Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has formally resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was disclosed in a statement signed by him.
The e SGF submitted his resignation via the APC chairman in Adamawa state’s Bangshika Ward, Hong Local Government Area.

“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the the All Progressives Congress, APC.
“In due course, I will make public my current political affiliation, where I plan to join compatriots to work towards making Nigeria a better living place for all citizens. This resignation takes immediate effect.
“Please remain blessed and extend my warm regards to members of your party,” he said.
This comes amid the wave of defection currently ongoing in the political landscape. According to previous reports, virtually almost all the top parties have seen multiple defections in recent times. This includes the ruling APC, PDP due to its internal crisis , Labour party among others.

The former SGF stated he would make public his current political affiliation when the time was right.
