The Obidient Movement, the Abia State chapter, has announced plans to hold a ‘One Million Man March’ in support of Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party.
In a statement released in Umuahia on Sunday, the Obedient group said the march will take place simultaneously across four major towns in Abia State — Umuahia, Aba, Ohafia, and Uzuakoli — on July 19.
According to the statement, jointly signed by Chibuzor Obiesili, one of the Obedient movement’s coordinators, and Mr. Christian Emmanuel, Head of the Media & Publicity Sub-committee, the event is being organized to commemorate Peter Obi’s birthday, which falls on July 19.
While backing Obi for adopting the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to pursue his presidential ambition in 2027, the Obidient Movement described the ADC as an “Organic Coalition Movement”.

“Obi believes that to dismantle the structures that keep our people in poverty and insecurity, we must build bridges and not walls even when those bridges are difficult,” the Obedient group said.
The Obidient Movement said apart from the One Million Man march for the former Anambra governor, its members would also visit inmates in prisons, hospital patients and other vulnerable persons across Abia State.
