Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has opened up about her past relationship choices, admitting that she made mistakes by dating men who were not as financially buoyant as she is.
Speaking in a candid interview with Zeze Mills, the Koroba crooner revealed that she is now focused on correcting those mistakes by choosing wealthier partners. Savage explained that at this stage in her life, financial status has become a key criterion in selecting a romantic partner.
“I used to make mistake dating down saying I don’t care if you’re not making money, it’s just love. But now, I think I need someone that just has money. I think I’m at that point now. Love is really nice but you can judge me for wanting a wealthier person if you want,” Tiwa Savage said.
The singer added, “I want to try that [dating someone who’s wealthier], I have tried the other way for so many years. Let me try what it’s like dating a wealthy man.”
Recalls that Tiwa Savage married her former manager Tunji Balogun, aka Teebillz, in 2013 but they divorced in 2018 after attempts to resolve their differences proved futile.
Their marriage produced a son called Jamil.
