Amid escalating fuel scarcity nationwide, the Federal Government has initiated a 15-day emergency fuel supply plan to ensure the circulation of petroleum products across the country. Vessels importing Premium Motor Spirit will continue to dock at shores for product discharge into various depots, subsequently distributing to filling stations.

Despite reports of significant fuel offloading at depots, queues persist at filling stations, notably in Lagos, Ogun, and other regions. Many individuals have parked their vehicles awaiting fuel availability, while those accessible are sold at excessively high prices.

The Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria affirmed substantial fuel deliveries, with plans for ongoing vessel arrivals over the next two weeks. Each state is allocated fuel supplies to alleviate filling station queues.

Despite assurances from authorities, the fuel crisis exacerbates transportation challenges, leading to increased trekking and inflated transport fares across affected areas like Ogun State.
