The EFCC will review a new complaint regarding the alleged N70 billion fraud case involving Matawalle.
The EFCC will review a new petition concerning the alleged N70 billion corruption case involving Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle. The agency’s acting Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwajuren, confirmed this while addressing protesters from the APC Akida Forum, who demanded the reopening of the case. The EFCC previously announced an investigation into corruption activities, including phantom contracts and fund diversion, allegedly committed by Matawalle during his tenure as Zamfara State governor. The chairman of the APC Akida Forum presented the petition, urging the EFCC to intensify efforts on the investigation. Uwajuren assured that the agency will take concrete action on the petition, emphasizing that the EFCC does not close cases once they are under investigation.
