Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has opened up on his visit to the state house on Monday, stating that he met with President Bola Tinubu to formally notify him of his return following the lifting of his suspension.
The governor, who was just returned following six months of emergency rule in the state, was at the State House on Monday night, according to a previous reports.
Shortly after the private meeting, Fubara told reporters he had a father-and-son conversation with the president on the next steps.
According to the Rivers state governor, he sought Tinubu’s advice on certain issues to prevent another round of crisis in the state.

He said, “You are aware that the suspension was lifted midnight, 17th and I resumed on the 19th. I’m here to tell Mr President that I’m back and have also resumed my responsibility as Governor of Rivers State.
“It was a father and son discussion, telling him thank you and the areas he should guide me properly, so we don’t have a crisis again.”
