The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has called on victims and survivors to come forward with credible information to support the ongoing investigation into an e-hailing driver accused of multiple cases of rape and assault in the state.

In a statement released via its official X handle on Sunday, the DSVA agency confirmed that it is collaborating with the Lagos State Police Command to strengthen evidence and ensure justice following the arrest of the suspect, identified as Adedayo Adegbola.

The DSVA commended the police for their “swift and diligent efforts” in apprehending the suspect and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the investigation while ensuring that all survivors receive justice and protection.
“The agency is working closely with the police to ensure justice is served and to build a stronger body of evidence in the ongoing investigation. We urge any other victims or survivors who may have been assaulted by the suspect to come forward. All reports will be treated with the utmost confidentiality, and survivors will be provided with the necessary psychosocial and legal support,” the statement from DSVA read.
According to police sources, Adegbola was arrested by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, after several viral social media posts in which multiple women identified him and accused him of sexual violence.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed on Saturday that the arrest followed a discreet investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, Olohudare Jimoh.
Adebisi added that preliminary investigations have linked the suspect to multiple incidents of rape, physical assault, indecent assault, and armed robbery involving female passengers.
Detectives also recovered a red Toyota Corolla with registration number JJJ 226 HT, allegedly used by Adegbola in committing the crimes.
The police stated that the suspect remains in custody as efforts continue to identify potential accomplices and gather additional evidence.
