Terrorists have yet again ambushed troops en route to rescue kidnapped schoolgirls in Kebbi State, injuring multiple soldiers.
The assault happened just twenty-four hours after Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), ordered Operation Fasan Yamma troops to “go all out” against the criminals who had kidnapped pupils from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, Kebbi state.

“You must continue day and night fighting. We must find these children,” Shaibu had ordered.
He further instructed officers to leverage intelligence for intelligence-based operations, emphasizing: “Once you receive information on something like this, act professionally and decisively. This is not just about our image; it is about doing our job properly.”
Troops were asked to maintain 24-hour operations until all abducted students are safely rescued and reunited with their families.

However, terrorists ambushed the soldiers as they prepared for the rescue operation in accordance with their orders.
In a widely shared video footage, several injured soldiers were seen lying helplessly without immediate medical attention.

The troops’ operational vehicle was also riddled with bullet holes during the attack.
