The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has said the party was founded to reset politics and democracy in Nigeria.

Abdullahi made the remarks on Wednesday during an interview on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television, as reported by The Nation.
He added that the ADC itself emerged as a response to the government’s destabilization of opposition parties across the country.

“In 2014/2015 what you saw that birthed the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was a product of political strategy.

“But what has brought about the ADC now is a product of political necessity occasioned by governments intension to destabilize all other political parties.
“ADC is not just here for political power, ADC is here to reset politics and democracy in Nigeria.
“It was the conflict that shrouded the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that pushed someone like Atiku Abubakar out of the party to join the ADC. Same goes to some Labour Party’s members who have joined us,” Abdullahi said.
