The Governor of Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has confirmed the release of 38 persons abducted during the attack on Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, Eruku, in Kwara Local Government Area.
The victims reportedly regained their freedom on Sunday after being taken during an attack on the church last week.

The governor claimed the development came after days of coordinated efforts by federal authorities and security services in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
He mentioned that in reaction to the events in Kwara and Kebbi states, President Bola Tinubu has ordered more security operations, including the sending of more tactical teams to Kwara.

AbdulRazaq expressed appreciation the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Office of the National Security Adviser for their contributions to the rescue effort.
He also thanked locals and community leaders for their assistance during that time.

This development comes as 50 students from the 300+ abducted from St Mary’s catholic school in Niger state have also regained their freedom and have reunited with their families.
Further information on how the victims were released or whether any arrests were made has not yet been made public by designated security authorities.
