The Senate has approved the appointment of 64 nominees for career and non-career ambassadorial positions after considering a report submitted by its Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The approval followed the presentation of the committee’s findings by its chairman, Senator Sani Bello, after which lawmakers adopted the recommendations.
However, during the deliberations, Senator Sahabi Yau raised concerns over the absence of any nominee from Zamfara State on the list.

He called on the Senate to formally draw the President’s attention to the omission.
Addressing the issue, the Senate President acknowledged the observation, noting that the list before the chamber was not exhaustive.
He assured senators that the matter would be communicated to the President, adding that more ambassadorial nominees are expected and that Zamfara State would not be left out in subsequent appointments.
