Aloy Ejimakor, lead counsel to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has seriously called for the detained activist to be relocated out of northern Nigeria, citing security concerns.
Following news of an American military strike on terrorist targets in Sokoto State, Ejimakor made the call on Friday using his X handle.

He claimed that the situation demonstrated that Sokoto is severely impacted by terrorist activity and was never a secure place to hold Nnamdi Kanu.
He urged the authorities to move Kanu to a facility outside of what he referred to as the “terrorist belt” in northern Nigeria, arguing that the presence of terrorists in the area poses a major risk to his safety.

Ejimakor emphasized that relocating Kanu has become more urgent in light of the recent security situation in the region.

He said: “The US military strike against terrorists in Sokoto has finally confirmed that Sokoto is riddled with terrorists & thus was never a safe place of custody for MAZI NNAMDI KANU. It’s now more urgent that he be travelled outside the terrorist belt in Northern Nigeria.”
