Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has issued a fresh warning against harmful grazing practices, cattle rustling, livestock poisoning, destruction of farmlands, night and underage grazing, as well as any activities capable of undermining peace and security in the state.

Mutfwang gave the warning in a statewide broadcast marking his third year in office on Friday, stating that his administration would take firm action against offenders and would no longer tolerate attacks or violent incidents against any community, including reprisal attacks involving farmers and herders.

Mutfwang added that anyone found guilty of violating the law would face strict punishment as a deterrent to others.

Speaking further on the ban on motorcycle operations within the Jos–Bukuru metropolis, the governor said the decision followed careful security assessments in the affected areas, reaffirming his government’s commitment to enforcing the restriction.

He explained that the measures were introduced in the interest of public safety, environmental protection, and peaceful coexistence, as well as to safeguard the rights and dignity of residents.

Mutfwang, however, noted that his administration remains open to receiving genuine complaints and grievances, assuring that all legitimate concerns raised through lawful channels would be addressed appropriately.

He also said ongoing security efforts have placed Plateau State on a positive trajectory, adding that confidence in governance is gradually returning.

According to him, hope is being restored and the vision of a peaceful, united, secure, and prosperous Plateau is becoming increasingly achievable, stressing that the state’s future remains promising for coming generations.
