Two additional members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have urged their colleagues to drop the impeachment process against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.

Two days after two other Assembly members publicly adopted the similar stance, calling for moderation and communication on the impeachment process, the lawmakers, Barile Nwakoh of Khana Constituency I and Emilia Amadi of Obio/Akpor Constituency II, made the request.

Recall that on Monday, lawmakers Peter Abbey and Sylvanus Eyinna Nwankwo broke ranks and urged their colleagues to approach the conflict cautiously and empathetically.

The MPs suggested ways to resolve the growing impasse between the legislative and executive branches of government by endorsing alternatives to impeachment.

The call was made during a press briefing in Port Harcourt Rivers State.

He emphasised that the governor is also accountable for making sure that such violations don’t happen again.
