A recent study by the Universal Service Provision Fund identified 87 clusters across the country where mobile network coverage is either poor or completely non existent. These areas represent millions of Nigerians who cannot access basic digital banking, online education, or even emergency services.
The commission recognizes that relying only on ground based infrastructure is no longer enough if we want to achieve universal access. This new policy direction shows a commitment to using every available tool to ensure that being in a remote village does not mean being cut off from the world.

This final dividend is based on the audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2025, and while it still needs the final “stamp” of approval from shareholders at the next Annual General Meeting, the excitement in the market is already very high.
Impressive financial numbers and revenue growth driving the big rewards
If you are wondering how they managed to gather this much cash to share, the answer lies in their robust earnings. Even by the third quarter of 2025, the company was already showing off some very strong muscles. Their revenue for the first nine months of the year jumped to over N131 billion, which almost matched everything they made in the whole of 2024.
This growth was mainly driven by energy sales and capacity charges, which brought in billions of naira. Their profit before tax also saw a healthy increase, proving that the management knows exactly how to navigate the difficult Nigerian business terrain. When a company has retained earnings of over N55 billion, you know they have enough “extra” to keep things running while still making their shareholders very happy.
