Nigeria’s Super Eagles FIFA Rankings Climb up 12 places from 38th to 26th In The World
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have just seen their FIFA ranking receive a major boost as Nigeria climbs up to the 26th place in the latest FIFA World Rankings that were released on Monday.
This latest update reflects a remarkable 12-place jump for the Nigerian men’s national team following their strong performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Nigeria moved up from 38th position after finishing third at the AFCON tournament, a result that significantly improved the Super Eagles’s FIFA ranking on the global stage. The team’s consistency and resilience throughout the competition earned them valuable ranking points.
With the new ranking, the Super Eagles are now the third-best team in Africa. Only AFCON champions Senegal, who are ranked 12th in the world, and Morocco, placed eighth globally, are ahead of Nigeria on the continent.

Algeria and Egypt follow Nigeria in the African standings, occupying the fourth and fifthpositions,s respectively. The improved Super Eagles FIFA ranking places Nigeria ahead of several traditional football powers on the continent.
At the top of the global rankings, Spain, Argentina, France, England, and Brazil dominate the leading positions. Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia complete the world’s top 10 teams.
