Following a horrific overnight attack on the Worro community by suspected Boko Haram terrorists, President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate deployment of an army battalion to Kaiama Local Government Area in Kwara State.
The directive was revealed on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. It also calls for the immediate start of a military operation in kwara known as Operation Savanna Shield and the appointment of a field commander.

According to the President, the battalion will be responsible for containing the invaders and defending the area’s vulnerable residents.
Tinubu denounced the assault, calling it “cowardly and beastly,” and claimed the attackers specifically targeted helpless citizens.
He pointed out that once the victims resisted attempts to brainwash them with radical ideas, they were killed.

He instructed pertinent federal and state agencies to collaborate in order to assist impacted citizens and guarantee the capture and prosecution of the attackers.
In addition, the President prayed for the souls of the deceased and consoled the relatives of the victims as well as the Kwara State government and populace.

Residents of Kaiama and the surrounding areas were reassured by Tinubu that the Federal Government will restore security and stop similar attacks from happening again.
