Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has cautioned political office holders from endorsing those he defined as traitors, stating that doing so would result in retaliation.

Wike addressed politicians from all tiers of government on Saturday in Port Harcourt at the launching of the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors headquarters.

The former governor of Rivers State, who spoke at the occasion, warned that individuals who support political betrayal should anticipate the same repercussions in both their personal and professional lives.

Wike addressed politicians from all tiers of government on Saturday in Port Harcourt at the launching of the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors headquarters.

He said, “Whoever is watching this programme, whether you’re a senator, whether you’re a House of Lords member, whether you’re a minister, or whether you’re the governor, and you support betrayers, people will continue to betray you in life.”

“Whether you’re a senator, whether you’re a member of the House of Representatives, whether you’re a minister, and whether you’re the governor, you sit down and support those who betray. Betrayal is your portion,” he said.

Wike went on to say that politicians who are trying to install successors or run for second mandates should be careful not to incite disloyalty within their own parties.

“Every governor who is doing a second term, who has ambition to put a successor, and is supporting betrayal, you will never survive it. Betrayal will follow you from the day your successor comes in,” he said.

He further stated, “That is what the gods of the land have told me to tell all of you. And what I tell you is the truth.”

Political backers and interested parties from all around Rivers State attended the commissioning ceremony.

Recall that since Governor Siminalayi Fubara left the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in December 2025, Wike has been at war with his successor in the state. This decision has altered political alliances and increased factional strife in the state.
