The Enugu State Government has shut down the operations of KC Gaming Networks, operators of the Bet9ja brand.
The closure was announced by the government in response to alleged ongoing infractions of the Enugu State Gaming and Lottery Law.

Following a court order from the Enugu State High Court, the Enugu State Gaming and Lotto Commission carried out the enforcement action, according to sources.
“We are here to enforce compliance with the Enugu State Gaming and Lottery Law. Over time, we have had several communications with KC Gaming Networks concerning their infractions and regulatory breaches,” Arum said.

The Enugu State Gaming and Lottery Commission was given permission to seal the betting company by the High Court of Enugu State in the case dated 6/54/2025 between the commission and KC Gaming Networks.
Prince Arinze Arum, the Commission’s Executive Secretary, told reporters following the exercise that the closure was the result of the state’s persistent attempts to get the operator to comply.

Arum revealed that the business disregarded many warnings, administrative notifications, and pleadings from the commission, especially with matters of licence revalidation, unpaid fees, and other legal requirements.
He added that Bet9ja’s operations in the state have been completely shut down as a result of the enforcement action.
