The All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congress in Idanre, Ondo state, was marred by fresh wave violence on Wednesday, which resulted in two fatalities and five injuries.
The incident happened at Idanre LGA’s headquarters, Odode-Idanre, while the ruling party held congresses in each of the state’s 203 wards.
The disturbance is thought to have spread from Tuesday’s pre-congress stakeholders’ meeting where suspected thugs invaded the party secretariat in Akure, leaving many injured and the state chairman and a commissioner beaten.
